The battery (
: Auton akku) is a car part that powers the vehicles electronic parts. It is installed in the front-right section of the engine bay with 2x8mm bolts while wiring the car. The stock battery can be found on the shelf in the garage at home. The stock battery is usually near dead and it has a lower max charge compared to the new ones due to it not being new. For it to be usable, it must be charged as soon as possible. The new batteries are made by LEAD ER and can be bought from Teimo's shop for 495 mk each. When tightening the bolts, make sure to tighten the positive bolt (red) first before tightening the negative bolt (black). Tightening only the negative bolt will cause sparks and not disconnecting it as soon as possible will result in the car catching fire, and, possibly, the player's death.
Battery charge[]
Batteries lose their charge over time when the engine is turned off and recharge when the engine is running. Problems with the engine or the electrical generation system (such as a snapped alternator belt or a broken alternator) can cause the battery charge to drop rapidly. Along with getting recharged by the alternator, batteries can also be recharged with the battery charger in the garage at home. The battery's max charge also will decrease as time goes on. The less a battery is used, the more its max charge will decrease.
When a battery is near fully charged, the needle on the charger meter should be in the middle or towards the left side; if it's all the way to the right, it is not charged enough. If the needle remains in the furthest right position for a long time, it means the battery is dead.
