There are over one hundred different car parts in My Summer Car that can be installed to the Satsuma. These parts are separated into three categories: stock parts are car parts that were original parts for the Satsuma, and can be found in the garage at the start of the game (with the exception of the rear seat which is just outside), aftermarket parts are car parts that can be ordered from the parts catalog, and miscellaneous/other parts are car parts that can be found anywhere else around Alivieska (Fleetari Repair Shop, Teimo's Shop, etc.), and are not original Satsuma parts.

Below is a table containing all of these car parts and what their real life purpose is (click on the images to enlarge them).

Stock parts

	Airfilter	Keeps loose dirt from entering the Carburator and damaging it, the increase in air resistance will in turn decrease performance.
	Alternator	An electrical power generator for a vehicle's electrical system that charges the battery when the engine is running.
	Back panel	A felt/plastic panel covering the trunk/boot of the vehicle.
	Battery	A battery that supplies electrical energy to a vehicle.
	Block	A part either made out of cast iron or aluminium that holds the pistons and other internal engine components.
	Bootlid	A body part that covers the trunk (or "boot").
	Brake lining	Lines through which brake/clutch fluid travels to the brakes.
	Brake master cylinder	A pump that pumps brake/clutch fluid to all four brakes through brake lines.
	Bumpers	Horizontally mounted parts on the front and rear of a car used to soften the impact of a minor collision.
	Camshaft	A shaft with cams attached to it that rotates, controlling the opening and closing of the valves on the rocker shaft/valve train.
	Camshaft gear	The gear that drives the camshaft. It is attached to the crankshaft by the timing chain.
	Carburator	A mechanically operated part that blends fuel and air to be pushed into the combustion chamber to be ignited and released through the intake valve.
	Clock gauge	A gauge that can be installed to the dashboard meters which displays the current time.
	Clutch cover plate	A plate on a manual transmission's clutch that clamps the clutch to the flywheel.
	Clutch disc	A disc used on a disc type clutch where friction to power the clutch lies between two plates, the cover plate and the pressure plate.
	Clutch lining	Lines through which brake/clutch fluid travels to the clutch.
	Clutch master cylinder	A pump that pumps brake/clutch fluid to the clutch.
	Clutch pressure plate	A part on a manual transmission's clutch system that releases constant pressure.
	Coil springs	Springs used to dampen and smooth the ride of the vehicle.
	Crankshaft	A shaft to which the pistons are attached which transforms the reciprocating (up and down) motion of the pistons into rotational motion.
	Crankshaft pulley	A pulley that drives the crankshaft and the alternator.
	Cylinder head	The part where the valves rest and the spark plugs screw into, also known as the combustion chamber.
	Dashboard	An interior component where gauges and the radio are displayed.
	Dashboard meters	The main panel on the dashboard which holds most of the gauges, lights, and switches.
	Disc brakes	A type of brake rotor that uses disc rotors that rub against a brake pad to stop the vehicle.
	Distributor	A mechanically-timed rotating shaft that provides electricity to the spark plugs.
	Doors	A body part on both sides of the vehicle that encloses the interior, and allow for access to enter/exit the vehicle.
	Drive gear	A gear delivering torque to drive the wheels in the vehicle's final gear.
	Drum brakes	A type of brake that has internal mechanic parts that push against an asbestos based friction pad to stop the vehicle.
	Electrics	Electrical wires attached to a coil that provide power to the distributor, which in turn provides power to the spark plugs.
	Engine plate	A smooth protective plate between the flywheel and the engine block.
	Exhaust muffler	A part on the end of the exhaust pipe that "muffles" the exhaust noise, quieting engine noise.
	Exhaust pipe	The pipe connected to the headers where the burned fuel/air mixture from the engine is released through.
	Fenders	A body part on both sides of the front of the vehicle that covers the suspension parts.
	Flywheel	A rotating part used on vehicles with manual transmissions that stores rotational energy, providing constant energy when the vehicle is running and smoothing out the rotation of the crankshaft.
	Front seats	For sitting in the vehicle.
	Fuel pump	A pump used to pump/feed fuel from the fuel tank to the engine.
	Fuel strainer	(AKA a fuel filter) A filter that removes dirt particulates from the vehicle's fuel.
	Fuel tank	A tank where fuel is stored for the engine.
	Fuel tank pipe	A tube that allows the driver to fill the fuel tank with fuel.
	Gear linkage	Parts that link the gear stick to the transmission to change gears.
	Gear stick	A stick shift used to change gears on a vehicle.
	Gearbox	(AKA a transmission) The component that transmits power to the vehicle's drive wheels. In this case, the gearbox/transmission on the Satsuma transmits power to the front wheels, since the Satsuma is a FWD (front wheel drive) vehicle.
	Grille	A part in front of the car which protects the radiator from larger objects.
	Halfshafts	Part used on front wheel drive suspensions that transmits power from the differential to the front wheels
	Handbrake	A special brake used to prevent the vehicle from rolling when parked on hills. Also called a parking brake.
	Head gasket	A gasket seal preventing fuel or air from leaking from around the block.
	Headers	Also known as the exhaust manifold, is the part where the burned fuel and air mixture gets released into the exhaust pipe to exit from the muffler out of the vehicle.
	Headlights	Lights used for viewing the road at night or in the rain.
	Hood	A body part covering the engine bay.
	Hubcaps	Decorative covers for the vehicle's wheels and lug nuts.
	Main bearing	A bearing that hold the crankshaft to the block, allowing it to rotate. The Satsuma's engine uses three bearings.
	Mudflaps	Rubbery flaps that keep mud and other loose objects from shooting straight backwards.
	Oil filter	A filter where dirt particulates in the oil are removed from it, and kept in the filter so dirt won't flow through the engine.
	Oilpan	The bottom of an engine where the oil falls into and recirculates to the top through the bottom of the engine, lubricating the entire engine. Once the vehicle is off, the oil drops to the oil pan and remains there until the engine is ignited once more.
	Pistons	A primary component of the engine. In a four-stroke engine like the Satsuma's, the piston first moves downward, taking in an air/fuel mixture (intake). In the second stroke, the piston moves up and compresses the mixture against a spark plug (compression). The plug ignites the mixture, which pushes the piston back down, driving the crankshaft (combustion/power). In the final stroke, the piston then moves up again, forcing exhaust fumes out of the combustion chamber (exhaust).
	Radiator	A part, usually made of brass or aluminium, that circulates coolant through the vehicle's engine and transfers waste heat away from the engine.
	Radiator hoses	Hoses leading from the engine to the radiator and back.
	Radio	An electronic radio used for playing music in the vehicle.
	Rear lights	Lights used to signal braking, turning, reversing, or to show drivers from behind that there is a vehicle in front of them at night or in the rain.
	Rear seat	For sitting in the vehicle.
	Rocker cover	A plastic, aluminium, or metal cover that covers the rocker shaft.
	Rocker shaft	Also known as the valve train, it is a series of intake and exhaust valves that open and close to let the fuel/air mixture in and out of the cylinders.
	Shock absorbers	A vapour gas filled tube that dampens shock impulses, helping to smooth out the ride of the vehicle.
	Spindles	Suspension part carrying the wheel hub.
	Starter	A part used to rotate parts in an engine when it is first turned on, allowing the engine to complete a combustion cycle, which then enables it to run on its own power.
	Steering column	A shaft connecting to the suspension allowing the driver to turn the vehicle using the steering wheel.
	Steering rack	A type of steering system operated by a pinion gear that pushes the steering rack from either left or right when the steering wheel is turned.
	Steering rods	(AKA tie rods) A tie in a steering gear of a vehicle's suspension system.
	Stock steering wheel	A part connected to the steering column that is used to steer the vehicle.
	Struts	A coil spring enclosed in a strut that dampens and smooths out the ride of the vehicle.
	Sub frame	Structural component bolted to the body of the car that bears the powertrain (the combination of engine, transmission and drive wheels).
	Timing chain	A chain that is specially timed to move the camshaft to open and close the intake and exhaust valves at certain times.
	Timing cover	A cover that encloses the camshaft gear and timing chain.
	Trail arms	A type of suspension arm connected between the axle and a pivot point
	Water pump	A pump that circulates coolant through the engine once the engine is running, dissipating heat in the engine.
	Water pump pulley	A pulley that operates the water pump.
	Wishbones	A part used on some front suspensions to locate the wheel. It bolts to the sub frame.

Aftermarket parts

	Amplifier	Amplifies the digital signal coming from the CD player and sends it to the subwoofers.
	Bucket seats	Light racing seats used on race cars with holes in them for installing a racing harness.
	CD player	An electronic CD player and radio for playing music in the vehicle.
	Dash covers	Fabric that covers the vehicle's dashboard, mainly used for decoration. Comes in a variety of patterns.
	Extra gauges	Gauges used to show the power from the battery, the pressure from the water pump, and the oil pressure.
	Fender flare spoiler	A spoiler attached to the front of the car which helps keep the vehicle on the ground at high speeds.
	Fender flares	Small arcs that are attached to the fenders which further help to keep air from entering the wheel wells at high speeds.
	Fiberglass hood	A lighter hood option which has a hood scoop to help with cooling the engine.
	Front spoiler	A spoiler attached to the front of the car which helps keep the vehicle on the ground at high speeds.
	Fuel mixture gauge	A gauge used to display the current amount of fuel and air that is being mixed in the carburettor.
	Marker lights	Small lights at the front of the car that provide visibility.
	N2O bottle	A container for nitrous oxide gas used to help the vehicle accelerate.
	N2O bottle holder	A metal strap for the N2O bottle to keep it in place.
	N2O button panel	A simple switch attached to the dashboard which toggles the nitrous oxide intake.
	N2O injectors	Nitrous oxide injectors that inject the gas in to the racing carburators.
	Racing carburators	Four independent carburettors that have no air filters installed on them.
	Racing exhaust	The pipe connected to the steel headers where the burned fuel/air mixture from the engine is released through.
	Racing flywheel	A lighter version of the flywheel used on vehicles with manual transmissions that stores rotational energy, providing constant energy when the vehicle is running and smoothing out the rotation of the crankshaft.
	Racing harness	Holds the driver to the seat and the roll cage, keeping the driver safe in an accident.
	Racing muffler	A part on the end of the racing exhaust that "muffles" the exhaust noise, quieting engine noise.
	Racing radiator	High performance radiator with dual fans for better cooling.
	Rally coil springs	Longer springs used to dampen and smooth the ride of the vehicle.
	Rally shock absorbers	A vapour gas filled tube that dampens shock impulses, helping to smooth out the ride of the vehicle.
	Rally steering wheel	A lightweight steering wheel used for rally racing.
	Rally struts	A coil spring enclosed in a strut that dampens and smooths out the ride of the vehicle.
	Rear spoiler	A spoiler attached to the bootlid that "spoils" turbulent airflow across the car, improving overall aerodynamics and reducing both lift (a force that pushes the car upward, which is bad) and drag (air resistance) at high speeds. No actual effect in-game (other than adding weight).
	Rear wing	A wing attached to the bootlid that generates downforce (downward thrust), allowing the car to grip the driving surface better at high speeds, especially when cornering. Unlike a spoiler, it also increases drag, lowering top speed and acceleration. No actual effect in-game (other than adding weight).
	Seat covers	Fabric that covers the vehicle's front seats, mainly used for decoration. Comes in a variety of patterns.
	Sport steering wheel	A lightweight steering wheel used for competitive racing.
	Steel headers	Steel racing headers.
	Subwoofers	A component used to amplify bass frequencies from music being played on the CD player.
	Tachometer	A gauge used to measure the engine's current RPM.
	Twin carburators	Dual performance carburettors.
	Wheel covers	Fabric that covers the stock steering wheel, mainly used for decoration.
	Window grille	A ridged plastic rear window cover which helps with the vehicle's overhead airflow.
	Windows black wrap	Plastic wrap that darkens the rear windows.

	Alternator belt	A belt used to drive multiple pulleys on a vehicle's engine.
	Fire extinguisher holder	A metal strap for a fire extinguisher to keep it in place.
	Fur dices	A pair of furry dice that dangle around under the vehicle's rear-view mirror.
	Grille GT	A part in front of the car which protects the radiator from larger objects.
	Long coil springs	Springs from a lorry used to dampen and smooth the ride of the vehicle.
	Radar buster	A device used to alert the player of a nearby radar gun before a police checkpoint.
	Register plates	Plates with numbers and letters on them which indicate that the vehicle is street-legal, and help to identify the vehicle.
	RPM gauge	A gauge used to measure the engine's current RPM.
	Spark plugs	A part used to ignite the fuel and air mixture in an engine.
	Subwoofer panel	A plywood panel covering the trunk/boot of the vehicle that has circular holes cut in it for subwoofer installation.
	Wheels	Moves the vehicle. On a front wheel drive vehicle like the Satsuma, the front wheels receive power from the drivetrain while the rear wheels are unpowered.
	Xmas lights	A long strip of flashing festive lights.
