Cay Rharles Speed Test Challenge was a rhythm game that could be played on the Mikropekka computer at home. The game could be accessed with the spdtest
command and, as with most other games, terminated by pressing Q
. The goal of the game is to press the correct key as many times as possible in a sequence within the given time limit.
Gameplay[]
The objective of the game is to press the Z
, X
, C
, and V
keys in a sequence based on sound and visuals. The B
key can be used to add one second to the timer. After a difficulty has been selected, four green circles appear at the bottom of the screen; these will indicate which key is to be pressed. The game ends when the time runs out, or if the player presses an incorrect button. Gameplay of the the speed test challenge can be found here.
Difficulties[]
There were four difficulty settings to choose from:
- Tera Velenius (easy) - Visible - 4 Note sounds
- Wovie Stender (medium) - Less visible - 4 Note sounds
- Cay Rharles (hard) - Barely visible - 1 Note sounds
- Kelen Heller (impossible) - Invisible - 1 Note sounds
Bugs[]
- Pressing all four buttons simultaneously counts as only hitting the correct button and does not end the game.
Trivia[]
- The maximum score of any difficulty is 1,000.
- The difficulty settings are spoonerisms for famous blind people: Vera Telenius, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, and Helen Keller.
