Fury IRL

The Fury in real life

The Fury is a vehicle based on a 1961 Plymouth Fury that was drivable in older builds of the game.

History[]

As a drivable vehicle[]

First teased in May 2015, the Fury was previously located at the airfield, where it served as a testbed for muscle car performance stats comprising a basic custom-made body mesh layered over a UnityCar performance template. The car featured traits typical with many custom drag-style American cars from the era: A powerful 405 horsepower V8 engine, a 4-speed manual transmission, rear-wheel drive, jacked rear suspensions, and slick tires with wider tires in the rear.

As a prop[]

Fury inside Fleetari's

The unfinished Fury prop found in the inaccessible interior of Fleetari's workshop prior to the December 2019 update; it has since been moved into the workshop's paint booth to make way for the dynamometer.

As the development of the game progressed, the Fury was eventually succeeded by the Ferndale, introduced in January 2016 and sharing similar but more balanced performance. Around the same time, a prop version of the Fury would be placed within the garage of the then recently created Fleetari Repair Shop, now resembling a gasser that is considerably less polished than earlier incarnations due in part to changes in assets shared with the Ferndale. Among other differences, the prop version lacks bumpers, chrome detailing and glass panes, mismatching front body panel colors, a leveled, heightened ride height, a half cage, and smoothie rims as opposed to Cragar rims.

When the repair shop was initially introduced, the car could still be viewed up close as the garage it was placed in could be accessible. However, the garage space was eventually sealed off and the car could only be seen from outside the garage (unless third party mods were used to noclip into the building). Following the December 2019 update, it has been moved into the workshop's paint booth to make way for the dynamometer. The car's model continues to lack collision after the repair shop's garage is accessible, so players could take a look inside its interior without leaning in.
