Hangover is a state achieved by drinking more than 1 bottle of beer and going to sleep before the wobbling subsided. Other exciting ways of achieving a more violent hangover include many Vodka shots or Spirits before bed. When you wake up, your camera begins to shake, signaling you are unwell. Hangovers also occur when the player drinks too much alcohol and blacks out. Upon waking up from the blackout the player will be in a state of hangover.

A worse hangover results in worse shaking, which can make working and driving very difficult. As expected, getting much more drunk will result in a worse hangover and will take longer to recover from.

Avoiding a hangover[]

Not going to bed drunk is the best way to avoiding a hangover. Not being a raging alcoholic makes this easier to deal with. Waiting until the player is relatively sober before going to bed stops a hangover from ruining the next day.

Dealing with a hangover[]

Hangover can be "cured" with more alcohol, thus making the player an alcoholic. Hangover can't be reset by saving and then re-joining the game, as with older versions. A hangover may also be handled by smoking a cigarette and waiting, though this usually takes a decent amount of time.

The player's alcohol tolerance may now be in correlation to their weight. The lighter the player, the less alcohol he can tolerate before passing out. So a heavier player (e.g. 100kg) can tolerate more alcohol than another player weighing 80 kilograms.

Hangovers can cause your hunger to go up rapidly. Make sure to bring food with you if you're still trying to do jobs or go to the store while hungover.
