Jani lying in blood, after an accident
Jani "Jasu" Kärlä is the driver of the Ricochet, the yellow car that may spawn outside of Teimo's shop or at the Dance Pavilion in Peräjärvi. When approaching him, he will insult the player and try to annoy him. After some time he will start the car and begin driving across the town. If the player saves at Teimo's Shop, he can be seen drifting into the front area of the store, hitting the player's car if parked near where he parks.
Jani looks to be in his mid 20's/30's, wearing a hat sporting the Kurjala Racing Team logo, Kurjala being a parody of the Finnish beer brand Karjala. He wears a black shirt with a yellow text reading "VÄKIVALTA LOPETTAA VITTUILUN" which freely translates to "violence stops people fucking with you" It is also the title of a metal/punk rock song of the same name by a Finnish band named Pistosaha, which might be a reference to one of the developer's favorite songs, hence the fact that a lot of metal and rock music is played on the in-game radio.
He will threaten the player if given the middle finger or punched, but won't actually respond or stand up and fight the player as he says in his threats. He can punch the player and knock them out only if the player gets close enough to the driver and tries to punch him. If knocked out, the player will either wake up in the shower room of their house, the driveway of their house, in his grandma's house or on the bench at the bus station in front of the shop. Even if the player does not respond to him in any way, the driver will still drive into the player's car, trying to rile up the player. The Satsuma can easily be damaged this way.
As mentioned based on his dialogue for his personality, Jani is rather rude and arrogant driver who loves to put down the player. He would become more threatening and intimidating should the player insult back at him, even if he just sits there and does nothing or simply drive off. Despite this however, he would be be willing to race the player in their Satsuma. As claimed by Suski, Jani has a slightly toxic relationship with her as she claims him boring and never show any interest towards her or anything.
Jani (along with Petteri) will spawn at 00:00-04:00 and 16:00-00:00 on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

- Jani's voice actor is Finnish streamer and game beta-tester StatusD.
- He can crash when cornering in the south western highway corner, which may lead to his death. It is an easy way to get Suski without racing him.
- According to an unused dialogue, Jani was supposed to sell Kurjala Beer when he is in the Dance Pavilion. This feature was probably replaced with Petteri selling Booze instead.
- Jani likes to swear a lot, saying "vittu" 52 times, "saatana" 12 times, "jumalauta" 3 times, and "perkele" 1 time across his 2 minutes and 28 seconds of dialogue, in total saying 68 swear words; one swear word every ~2.176 seconds
- He will start insulting the player if the Gifu is near him, stating you "smell like shit".
- Jani and Petteri's names are a reference to how Jani-Petteri is often used as a name combination. However, the combination became a sort of a meme and the name is now often used to refer to random men similarly to "some dude" in casual conversations.
