Junctions are an important part of any road infrastructure. Whilst there are many unique junctions in real life, in My Summer Car they are way simpler. In this game, there are 7 highway junctions and 4 dirt road junctions. There also many minor dirt road junctions, the number of which varies depending on the way you count them.

List of junctions[]

Highway junctions[]

Most highway junctions in the game are just dirt roads leading into the highway. However, some highway junctions are unique. There are seven highway junctions:

Peräjärvi highway junction[]

Main article: Peräjärvi highway junction

This is the only four-way highway junction. It has long slip lanes and an unused Peräjärventie bus stop after the junction in the lanes. From this junction, you can either turn onto the tarmac street to Peräjärvi, or to the construction site. This junction is lit by street lights.

Processing plant junction[]

This is a very small junction. A tarmac street leads from the processing plant to this junction. There are no slip lanes and no bus stops.

Loppe highway junction[]

Loppentie starts at this junction and leads to Loppe which is nearby. The Loppe bus stop is at this junction, though due to Loppentie being a dirt road, there are no slip lanes.

Kotimuoti factory junction[]

This junction is very similar to the processing plant junction, the main difference being the curvature of the tarmac street that leads to the Kotimuoti factory.

Loppentie highway junction[]

This junction is almost identical to the Loppe highway junction. A road leads from the Loppentie junction to the highway. The Loppentie bus stop is present at this junction.

Rykipohja highway junction[]

The Rykipohja junction is unique, as it has very long slip lanes that lead to Rykipohjantie. It has the Rykipohja bus stop and also a few street lights, due to being a tarmac road junction.

Ski hill junction[]

This is a very interesting junction. It doesn't have bus stops, but has a slip lane on the approaching side. This is weird, since the road from the Ski Hill is a dirt road.

Peräjärvi town junctions[]

There are two tarmac junctions in Peräjärvi, because the road loop in the town intersects Peräjärventie.

Also, there are many minor paths, such as the one between the gas station and car inspection shop, and the one near the church that leads to some houses. They form minor junctions with the tarmac roads.

Dirt road junctions[]

Dirt road junctions are very simple. They don't have any slip lanes, bus stops, and the only things near the junctions are some road signs. There are four of them:

Peräjärventie junction[]

This junction is between Loppentie and Peräjärventie, the latter of which ends here. It is a curved junction, which makes it very annoying during the rally, as the unnecessary curve means slowing down. This junction is situated in the village of Loppe. The beam bridge is right by the junction

Loppentie crossroads[]

Main article: Loppentie crossroads

The only four-way dirt road junction is the Loppentie crossroads. Actually, Loppentie intersects with itself in this junction. The four branches of Loppentie allow you to reach the Kesselinperäntie junction, the Loppentie highway junction, the Loppe village itself and a single house with a sewage tank. The branch to the sewage tank house joins the Loppe branch, meaning this is a double junction. This junction is also very annoying during the rally, because of the sharp turn, heavily obstructed by rally spectators.

Kesselinperäntie junction[]

Main article: Kesselinperäntie junction

This is a very small three-way junction, where Loppentie and Kesselinperäntie, the latter of which starts here. After this junction, there are some very sharp and dangerous bends.

Rykipohjantie junction[]

This is probably the most interesting junction in the game. Loppentie ends at this junction and joins the tarmac Rykipohjantie, though at an angle, which makes it impossible to turn right from the airfield while not going on the grass. To combat this, a slip road has been added.

Minor dirt road junctions[]

These junctions are very bare, missing road signs and any other junction infrastructure. Some notable ones include the two Ventii house junctions, Tohvakka's farm junction system, the Abandoned Mansion junction, the Birdwatching tower junction, the Dirt track junction, the Strawberry field junctions and the many simple junctions at the airfield and landfill in Rykipohja.

Railroad crossings[]

Main article: Railroad tracks

Another type of junction in My Summer Car is a railroad crossing. There are three of them on the dirt roads. The railroad doesn't direct crossing with the main road, since it passes it underground.

History[]

Junctions were introduced into the game between 8 December and 12 December 2013. At first, there were only simple dirt junctions. Junctions were placed frequently, however, the side roads ended a few meters after the junction. Apart from the unfinished side roads, the road system was roughly the same as in the first release versions, however, there were some differences: Peräjärvi didn't have any junctions or tarmac roads whatsoever; Kesselinperäntie, Rykipohjantie and junctions with them didn't exist, the latter of which caused Loppentie to curve around and join the highway in Rykipohja. Speaking of the highway, it was unfinished, as only the section between Rykipohja and Peräjärvi was built, meaning that the end of Loppentie at Loppe and the branch to the highway from Loppentie junction were incomplete. The built portion of the highway was also only a dirt road.

Build 151[]

The unfinished side roads were likely removed in this update.

Build 165[]

More variety in roads and junctions was added. The airfield and the tarmac Rykipohjantie were built, as well as the portion of the highway being asphalted. The Rykipohjantie junction was added.

Build 169[]

The player house was moved to the new Kesselinperä, with Kesselinperäntie and the Kesselinperäntie junction also being added.

Build 171[]

The highway was finally completed. Even though the Loppentie junction branch and the Loppe connection weren't built at first, the slip roads at Peräjärvi highway junction and Rykipohja highway junction were added in this version.

Build 175[]

Road signs and street lights were introduced to the game.

Build 176[]

The two highway entrances at the Loppentie junction and at Loppe village were finally built, though there were no bus stops at these junctions, unlike at Rykipohja highway junction and Peräjärvi highway junction.

Build 180[]

Peräjärvi was overhauled, adding many houses and the ring road, that intersects the tarmac portion of Peräjärventie.

05.02.2017[]

The railroad was added along with the crossings. In the same update, the bus was added, making the two existing bus stops functional and adding two new - Loppe and Loppentie - bus stops.

24.10.2017[]

The Ventii house and its junction were added.

05.12.2017[]

The Ski hill and the Processing plant were added along their highway entrances.

23.02.2018[]

The Strawberry fields and the two junctions near them were added.

24.10.2018[]

The Abandoned Mansion and the junction near it were added.

20.08.2019[]

The Kotimouti factory and its highway entrance were added.

29.05.2020[]

Tohvakka's farm and its junction were added.

01.04.2021[]

The construction site was added, meaning that the Peräjärvi highway junction is now a four-way junction.

07.07.2021[]

Minor roads received a new texture, that previously was exclusively used on the dirt track. The quarry also received a new minor road and junction with Loppentie. The Rykipohjantie junction also received a new slip road to make turning from/to the airfield easier. Two new minor roads to the lake were also added, meaning two new junctions - at the Ventti house and Tohvakka's farm - were added.
