Lindell is the name of the car inspector in Peräjärvi, he is likely the owner of Lindell inspection shop. His t-shirt says komiat ensin, which means "handsome ones first"—a memetic phrase linked to the Ostrobothnia region. He has short hair and a beard. He always has a screwdriver in his left hand.

Lindell seems very dissatisfied with his life, constantly complaining about how difficult it is. Having to inspect the player's Satsuma in particular seems to deepen his despair, almost to the brink of tears. While Fleetari belittles the Satsuma for its flaws, Lindell is more convinced of its total worthlessness. Under his breath, he laments the futility of having to assess such a rust heap and tries to convince the player afterward that there's nothing left to save. Passing the test against his wildest fears does nothing to his gloom, begetting only tired confusion. Unlike the car mentioned in unused dialogue, however, he does produce the register plates without a hassle.

The inspection office that he resides in is open from 08:00 to 16:00 on Monday through Friday. When it is closed, the front door will be locked and the inspection garage's door is shut.

Quotes[]

Main article: Lindell/Transcript
  • "Good morning and welcome to Lindell Car Inspection."
  • "You are such a character with this car of yours."
  • "I don't know what to say. My life and my job sucks."

Trivia[]

  • In the game files, he is referred to as Rindell. This is due to his heavy accent making the 'L' sound like an 'R'.
  • His bizarre expression about baby chickens or eggs is a minced twist on an old, vulgar expression tuosta ei tule lasta eikä paskaa, roughly "that won't produce a child nor a shit", an accusation leveled at someone wasting effort on something utterly fruitless, foolish and futile.
  • Lindell's general being is a commonly understood trope in Finnish mindscape; the gloomy, soul-crushed cog in the system, only going through the barest of motions, lessening his own suffering by spreading it to others. Those most guilty of going against his tide of infinite despair may suffer his envy-driven obstruction or malfeasance, no matter how petty.
