Macaron boxes (
: Makaronilaatikko) are packaged food items that can be bought from Teimo's shop for 11.95 mk per box. As with any other food item, macaron boxes can be eaten by pressing F.
Not to be confused with macarons, a French confectionery, the label on the packaging indicates it actually contains macaroni casserole, a staple of Finnish cooking also popular as a ready meal such as the one featured in the game. "Macaron box" is an intentionally poor literal translation, as the Finnish word "laatikko" can mean both "casserole" and "box." The macaron box's package cover appears to have been inspired by that of Saarioinen's Lihamakaronilaatikko packaging, sharing similar red-banded design cues present across its ready meal line.
Among all foods in the game, eating macaron boxes increase the least weight per percentage of hunger lost, making it the most effective diet food.
Since the October 24, 2021 update, this food item will spoil over time. Refrigerating it will extend its shelf life.
