The Peräjärvi highway junction is a four-way highway junction between the Main road of Alivieska, the entrance to Peräjärvi - Peräjärventie (which ends here) and the construction site. This junction is arguably the most important junction of the game - it's the main way to enter and exit Peräjärvi. This junction has slip lanes, though only on the side of the Peräjärvi entrance. Like the Rykipohja highway junction, it has street lights.
History[]
The Peräjärvi highway junction originally existed as a three-way junction added between 8 December and 12 December 2013, built into the preexisting natural landscape. It used to be a dirt road junction (both Peräjärventie and the Highway were dirt roads, and the highway wasn't even finished). In Build 165, the highway was asphalted, meaning that the junction was reworked. Slip lanes were added in Build 171, when a part of Peräjärventie was asphalted. After the addition of road signs in Build 175, the junction was feature complete. The junction would receive one more update in 01.04.2021 with the addition of the construction site and the remodelling of the three-way junction into a four-way one, the only such junction to exist along the highway.
The construction site exists as one of the earliest in-game teasers for My Winter Car, serving as the future site of a PSK rest area that would prominently feature in that game.
Trivia[]
- The bus, which turns to Peräjärvi at this junction, might take the turn too fast and go off the road. Even if it doesn't, do not stand on Peräjärvientie to make the turn on the highway if the bus is coming - due to its length, the bus has to make a wide turn, and will hit your car if you're in the way.
- There is an unused bus stop at this junction, placed on the slip lanes. The bus doesn't stop here, because it turns into Peräjärvi.
