A piston (
: Mäntä) is a car part which can be found inside the garage at home. There are four total, and each are attached inside the engine block to the crankshaft, one per cylinder. Each piston is secured with 2x7mm bolts.
The pistons can be worn down with use, or if the engine is improperly built/tuned. Critically worn pistons emit blue smoke into the exhaust system and engine will lack power (due to lack of compression) indicating that a replacement is in order. Pistons broken from common wear seize up instead of exploding from the block. If a piston is damaged or broken, it may be serviced or replaced at the Fleetari Repair Shop:
- The "repair of broken engine parts" option in the brochure will fix any car parts that are inside the office, costing 1,749 mk. This procedure might also take multiple in-game days, and is best utilized by bringing in as many damageable engine parts as possible at once.
- New pistons (as well as other parts) may be bought directly from the shelf inside the shop, costing 349 mk per piston, or 1,396 mk for all four. New parts bought from the shelf are guaranteed to have more durability than ones serviced by Fleetari.
