Road signs are decorational objects scattered throughout the map in My Summer Car. All signs are propped up on metal sign posts which are stuck into the ground. They are static objects and cannot be moved by the player through any means. Some signs may serve slightly useful to the player, while others are there for aesthetic purposes. All types of signs are listed below.
Stop sign[]
Stop signs are red and white octagonal signs sporting the word "STOP" in white. They are placed at intersections and indicate that the player should stop before the sign and look both ways down the intersecting road before turning onto it. Stop signs may be ignored, as the game lacks large amounts of traffic, and there is no legal penalty for doing so.
Animal crossing sign[]
Animal crossing signs are yellow and red triangular signs sporting a depiction of a moose. Animal crossing signs indicate areas where moose tend to cross specific portions of the road it is located beside. The length of the portion that they tend to cross is indicated with a similar sign below the actual animal crossing sign. Moose cross the road only at night and early morning, so this sign may be ignored for a large portion of the day.
Guide sign[]
Guide signs are blue and white rectangular signs which show the name of a certain location, direction, and/or distance to said location relative to the sign reader. Highway guide signs feature an additional portion of the sign which shows the highway's number.
Road name sign[]
Small white guide signs are used to indicate road names. These appear on some sign posts, usually at the end of a given road or at intersections.
Speed limit sign[]
Speed limit signs are circular yellow and red signs featuring a number written in black, which indicates the speed limit for the road it is located beside. Highway speed limit signs feature the highway number. There is no legal consequence for driving above the shown speed limit on the backroads, as there is no one to enforce it, but speed limit signs on the highway should most certainly be paid attention to, unless the player is in possession of a radar buster.
Yield sign[]
Yield signs are triangular red and yellow signs located at intersections. They serve a similar function to stop signs, but are not completely the same; yield signs do not require that you stop at the intersection, but rather require that you give anything coming from the intersecting road the right-of-way and stop only if required.
Built-up area sign[]
The limits of the town of Peräjärvi are marked by the Finnish urbanized area (: taajama) signs. These are black and yellow rectangular signs featuring a simplistic graphic of a city. They serve no purpose other than to indicate the limits of the built-up area of Peräjärvi and whether you are entering or leaving them.
