There are a total of six different NPCs roaming around Alivieska. They will endlessly wander and roam through villages, roads, and forests.
Three of them are in Peräjärvi (Kristian, Kale, and Alpo), one of them roams around Loppe (Julli), one in Kesselinperä around railroad tracks (Unto), and the last one is located near the Strawberry farm in Rykipohja. According to the game files, their official names are Kristian, Alpo, Kale, Unto, Julli, and Rauno.
The player can wave at them, by holding K
(default). They will answer back with the same gesture.
All of them can be knocked out with a vehicle or the player's fist. However, be warned; if you knock them out yourself, you will get arrested for attempted manslaughter. NPC's can sometimes be found knocked out.
Julli[]
The Loppe wanderer is officially named Julli, though he is sometimes known as Jukka. His shirt says "Jos ei tee töitä, ei tuu virheitä", which translates to "If you don't work, you won't make mistakes." He may sometimes wander into Fleetari's garage and gets stuck, due to the doors being left open and closing suddenly.
Kristian[]
The sad-looking man in a yellow shirt is named Kristian. He spawns next to the church, which means he might be probably some kind of verger. The Ricochet and Svoboda 180 often knock him out. He seems to have cut off the collar to his shirt in an attempt to show off more of his supreme Finnish body to potential female friends.
Kale[]
The second pedestrian of Peräjärvi is named Kale. He wears a dirty buttoned shirt and stylish Teimo-like pants, and he has a tattoo on his left arm that resembles a snake. He has a pale face, tan arms, and a body which leaves Peräjärvi's strongest quaking in their boots.
He is mentioned by Uncle Kesseli in his drunken rambles. Kesseli says that he is the kind of guy to take your bottle if you sleep on a bench, and that he has put resin oil in a bottle to fool him.
Unto[]
Unto can be found on Kesselinperä near the first junction and the railroad tracks. He appears to be an older, out of shape man possibly in his sixties or even seventies. His location and choice of attire suggest he may work in agriculture. Unto is prone to crossing the street without looking both ways, and evasive action may be required if you find yourself driving down the dirt road at the wrong time. He is the easiest NPC to hit on accident.
Alpo[]
The third pedestrian of Peräjärvi wears a green-brown leather jacket and a pair of blue jeans. He roams around the town. His outfit suggests that he might be some kind of forester, or possibly the lumberjack responsible for the morning chainsaw noises. Although his name is reminiscent of Alpo Almala, they are two different people; Alpo in town is way older than his rally namesake.
Rauno[]
Rauno spawns at Rykipohja, next to the strawberry field, and is one the two visible inhabitants of that area. He wears a sports top and jeans, meaning that he might be going out for a jog. He can sometimes be found at the airstrip.
Trivia[]
- When an NPC spawns, they will just go forward until there is an object or lake in front of them. The NPC will then turn around and continue their endless journey.
- There used to be 2 different NPC's in Peräjärvi, one wearing a police outfit, and a second one with a black shirt. They were replaced with Alpo & Kristian.
- NPCs can sometimes wander onto roads and get knocked out by a car or a bus.
- Some NPCs appear as if they wet themselves. This may be because most assets for NPCs are reused.
