Rykiperän Sanomat ("Rykiperä Times") is a local newspaper company in Alivieska. The newspapers cannot be bought, and they're visible only when the player dies.
Front page[]
After dying, a newspaper's front page appears on the screen. It tells how the player died. There are no other news on the front page, but there are some adverts, all for businesses featured in the game.
The advertisements translate as follows:
- Amis-Auto Ky: Order the new catalogue!
- Fleetari Repair Shop: Car busted? Fleetari fixes!
- Kesselin urakointi Ky: Hello! Kesseli here!
- Teimon kauppa: The only one - Fresh (goods) from Teimo's Store!
- Pub Nappo: Music, gambling, beer, small snacks! Pub Nappo - authentic bar atmosphere!

When the player dies, the newspaper will appear on their screen with a headline explaining their death.
Trivia[]
- Teimo's shop's opening hours are listed incorrectly on the newspaper. The shop is open from 10-20 instead of 8-20.
- The name of the paper indicates that it is based in, or covers news, somewhere named Rykiperä ("Ryki end"), but no such locale is identified in the in-game map. It is similar to the name of Rykipohja ("Ryki bottom") which may suggest a connection, or may be a place outside the playable area.
